Highbury Park - Mystery of the Shattered Bricks
Something did considerable damage to one end of the Henbury Garden wall this past Sunday.
This is a follow on to the previous post about B-Mail’s photo for ‘ultralocal’ coverage of King’s Heath. Much as I like the fact that it’s of Highbury entrance, it’s just not representative of da Heath, so I went out and did my own interpretation on that theme.
Top photo, combo of congestion at York Road and the awesome spires atop the adjacent buildings.
Middle photo, congestion (natch) and that long view northward along the only stretch that’s got (nice) buildings fronting both sides o’ the road.
Bottom photo, no congestion, and a more open aspect.
If you have an idea about a representative KH street scene, let’s see it.
Separate local page on the Mail site, not the most representative photo tbh…

I’m doing some heavy duty pruning of over hanging bushes and needed my secateurs sharpened. When I collected them I was shocked at the price of only £2.50, its not the sort of job you do regular so I really had no idea what I would pay but would of expected to pay at least double that. So I decided the shop keeper deserved some publicity and as I’m taking the photo his mate over the road was shout what about me. His shop was a mini Mothercare so I shant be needing his services. Asda Kings Heath is launching a search for the best local produce in the West Midlands to celebrate the many mouth-watering delights the area has to offer.
The team at the Kings Heath High Street store are asking local suppliers who’d like to tickle local taste buds with their wares, to step forward and let them know what they have to offer.
